Reengage, reemerge.

Online therapy for depression, serving adults throughout WA

Depression tells you all the things you can’t do, have or be.

You don’t have to believe those stories anymore.

You feel constantly stuck. Maybe stuck in your head, your life, or literally unable to get out of bed. Your body feels heavy, you’re exhausted, and just surviving the day feels like it takes all of your energy. Everything feels harder than it used to, harder that it should.

You know all of the things that would make you feel better: eat healthier, exercise more, think positively!

If you could change it that easily, you would have done it already.

Depression impacts every aspect of your life. You know you're capable of doing better work, but can’t seem to find the energy or motivation to get there. You rarely see your friends because the thought of going out or interacting with people is draining and overwhelming. You’re not engaged with your partner or family at home even though you love them. You want to want to do things, but just can’t seem to get there.

What if you could get your energy, motivation, and personality back?

Together, we’ll work on developing skills to manage the most immediate symptoms and set some smaller, more manageable goals to get you started. We’ll also work together to understand the root causes of depression that are specific to you. From there, we’ll create a plan unique to your goals and needs, including working to resolve any past experiences that might be causing or exacerbating your symptoms.

Therapy for depression can help you…

  • Gain context to better understand your symptoms and experiences

  • Improve your energy and motivation

  • Re-engage with your interests and activities

  • Reconnect with the relationships that are important to you

Every day doesn’t have to be this hard.

FAQs

  • The words “sadness” and “depression” commonly get used interchangeably, but in the clinical sense, they are not the same at all. Sadness is a temporary, transient emotion that everyone experiences from time to time, usually in the context of a reaction to something specific. It can be uncomfortable, but it isn’t debilitating and, like all emotions, it will change or resolve on its own.

Depression is a combination of multiple symptoms that may include feelings of sadness, but also often includes losing interest in things you normally care about, changes in sleep patterns and appetite, feelings of guilt or self-loathing, low energy or motivation, and feeling unable to concentrate. These symptoms last longer than 2 weeks, can be debilitating, and often do not resolve without some sort of intervention.

  • I don’t prescribe medications, and won’t try to convince anyone to take them. There may be times where it feels appropriate for us to consider seeking a medication evaluation, but this will always be in the context of a collaborative conversation and I will respect your decisions. I am neither ‘pro’ nor ‘anti’ medication in general; everyone has unique needs and this is a personal decision. Whether you choose to include medication as part of your treatment or not, we’ll still work on understanding and reducing symptoms.

  • While medication can be very helpful in the treatment of depression, it is rarely enough to resolve it entirely. Therapy for depression can give you additional tools, insights and education, and help to resolve the core issues driving your symptoms. Research consistently shows better long-term outcomes for clients who engage in a combination of medication and therapy than those who only take medication.
